Bay Creek

First-Time Builder, Long-Time Believer

The newest member of our elite Bay Creek Builders Guild is a long-time believer in the Bay Creek vision as well as one of the first property owners in the community.

Larry Hill, founder of L.R.Hill Custom Builders in Virginia Beach, still owns the lot he bought near the Bay Creek Marina shortly after the community’s founding in 1998, where he one day plans to build his own personal vacation getaway home.

Right now, however, he’s got bigger fish to fry in Bay Creek. He’s planning to break ground soon on The Club Townes at Bayside Village, featuring 20 three-story townhomes in Bayside Village, a short walk from the Beach Club & Fitness Center and the two-mile private beach on the Chesapeake Bay.

Inspired by the Boom

the Parra FamilyThe recent burst of new home construction at Bay Creek has inspired a number of property owners to begin thinking about building their dream home here.

Exhibit Number One:  Sandra Lin and husband Jose Parra of Baltimore.

Sandra and Jose have been Bay Creek property owners since 2006, when they purchasd a villa and a homesite in Bayside Village overlooking the Chesapeake Bay.

They’ve used the villa extensively for vacations and holiday getaways for the last nine years, all the while waiting for the right time to build on their Bay-front lot.

Flying Dogs ReturnTo Bay Creek

Can dogs really fly?

Maybe not, but it sure seemed like it on the weekend of July 15-17, when Bay Creek hosted the second annual Bark in the Park, featuring the Dock Diving Dogs competition, quite possibly the greatest celebration of canine athleticism ever staged in the Tidewater region.

Some of the world’s most acrobatic canines returned Bay Creek for this year’s competition, with a full line-up of gravity-defying events, including Big Air, Speed Retrieval, Extreme Vertical and Iron Dog.

This year’s was a howling success, attracting more than 60 canine competitors from across the Southeast.

As a special treat, Brown Dog Ice Cream of Cape Charles provided it special homemade ice cream to all competitors, owners and guests. Voluntary contributions were delivered to The US War Dog Association.

The United States War Dogs Association, Inc. is a nonprofit organization of Former and Current US Military Dog Handlers and supporting members committed to promoting the long history of the Military Service Dogs, establishing permanent War Dog Memorials, and educating the public about the invaluable service of these canines to our country.
