Members of the Southern Living Custom Builder Program are hand-selected based on their reputation in the community; strength of presence in their respective markets; superior quality and attention to detail; innovative style; and other criteria.
“The Southern Living Custom Builder Program is about connecting people who want their homes to have a distinctly Southern feel to builders who have the expertise to provide them,” said Kristen Bryan, Associate Director of Marketing for Southern Living Magazine. “Luke was selected because of his commitment to creating high quality Southern-style homes to residents of Bay Creek and other outstanding communities on Virginia’s Eastern Shore,” she said.
Kellam Construction is a member of the Builders Guild at Bay Creek, a 1729-acre golf resort community on the Chesapeake Bay in Cape Charles, VA. Bay Creek was recently selected as a Southern Living Inspired Community, one of only 15 communities in the country to have earned the prestigious designation.
He is currently at work on the Littleton Tazewell House in the Bayside Village neighborhood, one of four classic homes in the Ideal Home Collection at Bay Creek, with completion expected in May 2016.

Kellam, 50, is an Eastern Shore native who worked in high-end residential construction across the Bay before moving back to Belle Haven with his family in 2005. Since founding his own company, he’s taken on a wide variety of homebuilding projects, including one of the few Platinum LEED Certified home on the Eastern Shore, a contemporary showcase home on the Chesapeake Bay, a historical residential renovation with the support of the Colonial Williamsburg Architectural Team, and a number of single-family homes and renovations.
